There are millions of people involved in thousands of computer games. Among them are those, who spend just a couple of hours per week or sometimes even more. But there are people seriously engaged in the games and computer simulations. They are able to sit whole days in front of the screen and create their own lives and places somewhere in the cyberspace. The places which actually do not exist.
Second Life - a computer simulation of life - is a virtual world accessible via the Internet, in which you can create your Avatar - a computer user’s representation of yourself in the form of a three-dimensional model. Being Avatar in that virtual world you can socialize with other Avatars, create your own virtual life, possess property or participate in many activities. There are so many things to do that you cannot simply imagine. It is just a matter of launching Second Life's software on your personal computer, logging in and enjoying high life with virtual people in big cities.
But the question is, what's the point? Why so many people spend their time in building another, non-existing life and what’s so attractive in it?
I think that those games are sometimes for people who try to realize themselves in that way, forget about real world and escape into a different life without any problems and issues. Some of them are so captivated that they do live just in the second life’s world.
It is really important to know that we are not Avatars in a scientific fictitious space, but people in a real world and we have to primarily be logged in here, and have awareness, willingness to act and motivation for life, just in our first actual life.
