In 2004 a new world chapter was opened. Intensive concern of social network – an online platform, on which you could build your social relations among people and share your interests and activities – caused focusing public attention on the value of positive internet solution. During few years many online projects have been launched, but only one became the leader and champion of all social network ideas – the Facebook.
There are many theories explaining how that idea won in the race for the best and well-known social service, but it still remains the phenomenon of our century. In six years the Facebook gathered 600 million active users (as by January 2011), millions of businesses, communities, fan pages, local groups and companies willing to build their own profile inside that web.
But despite those huge numbers, great statistics and promising data, is there anything that could concern people? I am not talking of positive idea of building relations among people, who even live far away from each others, of sharing good news and being in touch with friends all the time. Facebook is simply a tool for creating something good. But when you watch some people putting their best photos, presenting their “perfect life”, smiling faces, hundreds of social connections, you can conclude that their profile is not always a “right” side of their life. “Beautiful people” show themselves off and sometimes they can think that the Facebook profile is the measure of their value. On the other hand, most people who have any self-esteem make at least some effort to present themselves in a positive light. However, we pick that up and say that the true value is not just your rich profile, but simply you as a human being.
