“Godfather” is probably one of the best film adaptations of the story of a Sicilian family living in the United States of America. Unofficially its work is regarded as that of a mafia, controlling some part of the dirty business (alcohol, arms and drugs trade, gambling) were all stays at the border of illegal activities.
The term mafia is also called Cosa Nostra (Our Case) which figuratively means, that everything, even family issues, remains exclusively within the members of relatives. Sicilians working in Cosa Nostra have their own set of rules, not always parallel to applicable law. The head of the family is called Don (Godfather), and together with his closest associates (family members) rules all the family activities.
The story of „Godfather” might be really inspirational especially for those, who are guided in their life by the law of the jungle. But the principle of strength is not always right, because everybody gets a different packet of personal attributes: there are those who are stronger and those who are weaker. The justice is not adequately measured. That is why there is the need for appealing to somebody else and adoption of common rules and common values respectable by everybody.
What is really good in that film („Godfather”) is that attitude toward the Family – which is the most important space for everybody wherein never should be the place for fight or long-lasting quarrels and hate. The Family should be protected and supported, and never should be exposed for danger and collapse. According to these principles, Cosa Nostra is our duty and our case.
